By the way I had it so Eriol made her get up late. He didn't want people around to see her fall through the hole and use her magic.

So the Chronos card we decided that Syaoran will make. I was thinking when Sakura goes back in time to see Clow's and Clare's relationship maybe Clare makes her get stuck in the past. Out of desperation Syaoran makes his first card. He then uses it to go back in time to rescue her. Thoughts?

I like this idea.  It's the most logical reason for him to make that card.  Plus, I assume they're using that tree again, so there's probably a lot of ambient magic in the air that would help him create something that powerful.

Yeah I was thinking she would go use the tree.
