Usagi woke early so she could begin getting ready. Normally she would sleep in, but not today. Today she had a special date with Mamoru. It had been awhile since Usagi had been able to see her beloved Mamo-chan and she wanted to be sure she looked her best for their date.

She showered and blew her hair dry, after taming her hair, she was able to pull it up into her signature odangos. She put on some light make up. She was older now and was wanting to look more mature for Mamoru, even if physically she was still a klutz and a crybaby, she knew Mamo-chan loved her none-the less.

Since it was a warmer spring day, Usagi slipped into some denim shorts with small pink polka dots. She pulled on a light pink short sleeve shirt with a short sleeve white jacket over it. She slipped on her white tennis shoes. 

She had baked some cookies with Ikuko mama the night before and was hoping her cookies turned out okay. Her baking skills were no where near her mama's skills, but she put all her love into her baking and that was what mattered most in her opinion.

Usagi grabbed her purse and her basket with the cookies.

"Ittekimasu" she called out to her mama as she left to walk to the park.

It was a beautiful day and Usagi was a bit lost in thought as she walked to the park, but soon enough she found the spot Mamoru had told her to meet him at,or she thought it was the spot.  It had been under the sakura trees where one had a perfect view of the entire park, including the small lake.

She set the blanket down and sat on it, she waited for Mamo-chan to show up. She hoped she had gone to the right spot, it would be just like her to go to the wrong spot.

She text Mamo-chan and let him know she was at the park.

Mamoru was his in kitchen preparing lunch for his date with Usagi today. She offered to make lunch, but he knew it would be safer if her made it. As he was placing the food into the lunch boxes, Mamoru heard his phone going off. He pulled it out of his pocket and saw it was a message from Usagi.

'She's early,' he chuckled to himself after reading the message. 'Better not keep her waiting.' He put his phone back into his pocket. He then finished placing the food into the lunch boxes and placed them into a cooler. 

When Mamoru arrived at the park, he found Usagi sitting under a sakura tree. He smiled at her and walked over to her. "Looks like you found the right spot."

When Usagi saw Mamoru standing beside her, she couldnt help but light up. They had been able to live a somewhat normal life, and could go out together without the interruption from youmas. 

She spoke feeling quite proud of herself, "I made sure to write down the directions, and I even remembered to bring them when I left." She had been working really hard to not be so clumsy and forgetful lately, but sometimes she was still late which she made u for today by showing up for her date with Mamoru early.

She saw that he had the basket of their lunch and her stomach growled. She asked him, "what did you bring today Mamo-chan?" a smile growing on her face.

It was such a beautiful day, she appreciated the small things that had allowed them to be able to share this moment together.

Mamoru smiled at his girlfriend. She was cute, when she took pride in herself. He took a seat next to her and begun to open the cooler. Mamoru grabbed a container and opened it up. He then showed her what was inside.

"Club sandwiches," he replied to her question. "I also made a fruit salad and some chips." He placed the container with the sandwiches down on the blanket. He then grabbed the two containers that had the fruit salad. One for each of them. Mamoru then grabbed the bag of chips. "I hope you like it.

Usagi beamed up at Mamoru. How was I lucky enough to end up with such a great guy? She thought as she thanked him for the food he brought. She reached for the sandwich and took a bite. She savored every flavor of the sandwich. It was not her first club sandwich, but something about this sandwich was better than all the rest. 

She placed her sandwich down so she could try the fruit salad. It was another delectable array of flavors in her mouth. She assumed the fruits were fresh as the flavors were bold, but not in an overbearing way.

Usagi took a sip of some water before eating some chips. She looked up at Mamoru as she spoke, "its all so delicious, thank you for making the lunch Mamo-chan." She said as she leaned into Mamoru and wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

Mamoru smiled at his girlfriend and returned her hug. He then let go of her and continued to eat his lunch. As they ate Usagi chatted about a new video game that came out at the Crown Arcade. She went on about how difficult it was and that Ami set a new high score record for it. Mamoru just nodded his head to show that he was listening to her. It was cute how she babbled about the simplest stuff. As he took a sip of his drink Mamoru looked out at their view. They could see the lake and he noticed people were out on boats. An idea then hit him.

"Usako," he spoke up and looked back at his girlfriend. "Would you like to take a boat ride after lunch?"

Usagi had been going on and on about the latest video game. It was a battle game and just like with the Sailor V game, Usagi tried her best, but couldn’t make it very far in the game. She paused for a moment to take a bite of her sandwich and get a drink of water.


When Mamoru asked about the boat ride, Usagi turned her head and looked up at Mamoru, her eyes growing wider in anticipation. She was a bit nervous about going out on the water but when she glanced out on the small lake and saw the others out on the lake and that they appeared to be having a good time, she smiled as she spoke softly, “I think that would be okay, I’ve never been on a paddle boat before Mamo-chan, it’s safe right?” She was asking just to confirm her nerves. She knew that if she was with Mamo-chan she would be safe, but if he told her it was safe then she would be more than willing to give the paddleboats a try.

Mamoru just smiled and nodded at his girlfriend's question. "Yes it's perfectly safe. The lake isn't really that deep." 

The couple then finished up their lunch and they headed over to the lake. There was a small boat house with a dock behind it. Mamoru paid the man in charge and he got a boat ready for them. Mamou helped Usagi into the boat and he then took his seat opposite from her. He grabbed the two paddles and started to row. He slowly rowed the boat across the lake. Mamoru wanted Usagi enjoyed her time. 

"Look," he said and pointed to the right of them. "There are ducks swimming across the lake."

Usagi was excited for the boat ride, she had never done anything like this before, but if Mamo-chan said it was safe she would trust him, he had never given her a reason to not trust him.  Usagi sat in the boat taking in the wonders of the lake, which seemed to sparkle from the sunlight reflecting off of it.

Usagi stretched her arms up in the air, soaking up the sunlight on this lovely day. She glanced at Mamoru as he pointed to the ducks that were swimming on the other side of the lake.

Usagi got a bit too excited as she nearly jumped to the other side of the boat so she could get a better look. "oh look Mamo-chan, they are so cute all the little duckies swimming with their mama." She said as the rocked the boat a bit from her sudden movement.

Mamoru laughed a bit as he watched Usagi getting excited over the ducks. She was being so cute. Then the boat started to rock a bit from Usagi's excitement. 

"Usako," he spoke. "Don't rock the boat too much or we'll flip over." He then continued to row the boat and pointed out more sites for them to look at. Then an hour went by and their time was up. Mamoru brought them back to the dock and helped Usagi out of the boat. "Would you like to go do something else?"

Usagi blushed at Mamoru’s comment. She definitely did not want to end up in the water. She glanced back up at him as she spoke, “I’m sorry, I just got excited.” A smile spread across her face as Mamoru paddled across the lake.

Soon enough they were out of the boat and walking back in the park, when Mamoru asked if Usagi wanted to do anything else, Usagi thought for a moment as she walked with Mamoru, her arm lacing with his as they walked.

Usagi went through a short list of things to do in her mind, but most were quite childish, she was considering going on the swings, she didn’t care that she was a high school student, the swings were still fun in her opinion, but she decided to do something else.


Usagi looked up at Mamoru her eyes full of hope, “Mamo-chan can we go to that little bakery and get a snack, they have the best little cinnamon rolls that are hot and fresh out of the oven with all the icing, ooh can we go there Mamo-chan?” Usagi asked  with the excitement of a young child who wants to go to the candy store.

Mamoru just chuckled, when Usagi brought up going to a bakery for a snack. Normally he would scold her since they just ate. However, she deserved to be spoil seeing how they just defeated the Dark Kingdom. He just nodded his head in agreement and took her to the bakery that she was talking about. When they got there, he order some cinnamon rolls and two of them sat down at table.

"So how was school this week?" Mamoru question her as he ate one of the rolls.

Usagi looked up at Mamoru as she ate her little cake. School, why did he have to ask about school? Usagi thought as she smiled, "I have been working hard Mamo-chan, but I got my math test back and it wasn't good, I haven't even shown my mom yet I know she will throw me out like last time, but its so hard Mamo-chan, I just don't get it." She said before smiling, "but on a positive note, I did well on my Japanese test and my history test." She said feeling quite proud of herself.

"What about you Mamo-chan, is school busy for you right now?" Usagi always wondered what Mamoru's school was like, maybe one day she would know what it is like to be a high school student.

Mamoru frowned slightly, when Usagi told him that she failed her math test. He wondered if he should try to help her study. He then nodded his head, when she told him that she was doing fine in her other classes.

"Yeah, school is keeping me busy," he replied to her question. "I've been studying for college entrance exams. My school is making us take a practice exam next month." He then nibbled on his food. He should be studying right now, but he rather be here with Usagi. "It shouldn't be too bad. I understand the material."

Usagi smiled at Mamoru, "that's good, I probably need to study more like Mamo-chan, maybe then I can pass my math tests. I try Mamo-chan, I do. But math is just so boring, why can't they teach us math that we will actually use when we are done with school, instead of this crazy hard math." She said with a sigh as she ate another bite of her cake.

She glanced out the window and caught site of people passing by. Suddenly she got an idea, she had remembered seeing something or hearing something on the news about a meteor shower this weekend. She thought it would be a fun event to watch with Mamoru if he wasn't busy.

She turned back to face Mamoru. "Mamo-chan, did you hear anything about a meteor shower this weekend? Maybe we can watch it together." She said as she twiddled her thumbs together and her cheeks turned bright pink in embarrassment.

Mamoru paused for a moment as he thought about the weekend. Did he had anything coming up? He knew he had his studies, but he was head enough to be able to take a break. He just shook his head and smiled.

"I'm free," he replied. "I would love to watch it with you. When and what time should I pick you up?" He then took a sip of his drink as he waited for her answer.

Usagi twidled her thumbs before answering. "Um, how about 8 or 8:30, whichever works for you," her cheeks had turned a bright shade of pink as she hoped she would be able to cuddle close to Mamoru as they watched the meteor shower. She loved doing simple things with him and she hoped this would be a night she would remember forever.

"Maybe I can ask mama to make us some hot cocoa and sweet treats? What do you think Mamo-chan?" she asked as she wrapped an arm around him in a hug.

"That sounds wonderful, Usako," Mamoru replied and smiled at his girlfriend. The two then finished their food and he walked her home. 

On the night of the shower, Mamoru came to Usagi's house and picked her up. After dealing with meeting her parents for the first time, they headed to the park holding hands. When they arrived, Mamoru set out a blanket for them to sit on. He sat down and motioned Usagi to set next to him. 

"Couldn't ask for a better night? Glad that there no clouds in the sky," He spoke with a smile on his face.

Usagi smiled when Mamoru came to pick her up. She was excited to be spending time with him. She felt nervous as she held his hand, but she didn't want to let his hand go. It felt warm and made her heart beat a bit faster. She looked up at the sky and saw stars like she had never seen before, it was one of the clearest nights she had ever seen.

Usagi sat down next to Mamoru after he laid the blanket down, reaching for his hand again and rested her head on his shoulder. "I can't believe its so clear out tonight Mamo-chan" she said as she gazed up at the sky.

She suddenly remembered learning something about the, oh what were they called again, she thought as she sat up straighter and wrapped her arm around Mamoru's.

"Mamo-chan, do you know about those, oh what are they called, you know when the stars form shapes?" She asked her eyes big with excitement as she turned to look back at the night sky.

She caught a glimpse of her first shooting star. "Look Look Mamo-chan, did you see that?" She said with the excitement of a small child in a candy store.

She suddenly became embarrassed by her behavior and sat more calmly next to Mamoru, resting her head on his shoulder once more.

Mamrou couldn't help, but laugh.  He found his girlfriend's innocence amusing.  He looked up at the night sky and looked at the shooting star that she pointed at. It was quite a sight. He then noticed that his girlfriend looked embarrassed.  Mamrou just wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer.   They continued sitting there watching the shower.

"Have you made a wish yet Usako?"

Usagi felt electricity travel down her spine when Mamoru pulled her close. She let out a playful yell as she placed her hand on his. When he asked her if she made a wish, Usagi shook her head no she had not yet made a wish. She quickly closed her eyes and made a wish. I wish I could spend every moment like this with Mamo-chan, its so nice to be able to be with him and not worry about the threat of an enemy, please stars above let me spend all the time I can with Mamo-chan.  She thought as she opened her eyes. 

She looked at the sky a bit longer before resting her head on Mamoru's shoulder, snuggling closer to him to keep warm in the cool weather.

She saw a vendor selling hot beverages, she got Mamoru's attention and spoke, "Mamo-chan, do you want to get a warm beverage, I think hot chocolate sounds amazing right now," she said with a smile, her head still resting on Mamoru's shoulder.

"Oh Mamo-chan, did you make a wish?" She asked him, her eyes big with anticipation at Mamoru's response.

What would he wish for? He never given it much thought, when he saw the shooting star. He took a minute to think about, but nothing was coming to mind. He finally has a happy life. He was no longer questing who he was anymore. He glanced at Usagi saw she looked anxious for his answer. An idea struck him and he gave her a playful smile.

"It's a secret, Usako," he replied and gave her a little wink. He then whisper in her ear. "It won't come true if I tell you."

Usagi smiled up at Mamoru as she rested her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Well whatever it is, I hope it comes true," she said as she gazed back up at the sky. She began to see more and more shooting stars.

"Look Mamo-chan" she said with great excitement, "its so beautiful." She said as she sat up to move closer to the edge of the blanket, but she got up too fast and was beginning to topple forward as she had been sitting on her feet and they had been falling asleep.

Mamoru quickly grabbed a hold of her and pulled her back up. He then slightly bonk her on the head. Sometimes he worried about his girlfriend. 

"You need to watch yourself, Usako," he spoke jokingly. He then stood up. "I'm going to get us some hot coco." He then left the blanket and headed toward where the vendors were. He bought two cups of hot coco and some cookies to share. He found Usagi's sweet tooth amusing. She was going to get cavity one of these days. He returned to the blanket and handed her the drink. "Here and I also got a use some cookies to share. They're chocolate chip." He sat back down next to her and took a sip of his drink.

Usagi laughed at Mamoru's comment and her cheeks turned a light shade of pink, but she quickly brushed it off. She smiled when Mamoru said he was going to get hot cocoa. It was starting to get cold and she was glad to be holding a warm liquid in her hands. She was even more surprised when Mamoru brought cookies.

"Thank you Mamo-chan you are so sweet." She slowly ate the cookie, enjoying its chocolately flavor. The hours began to get later and later. Usagi let out a yawn, she wanted to stay later, but her body was calling for her to sleep. She looked up at Mamoru and placed her hand on his, "should we call it a night Mamo-chan, its getting late and I think I am getting sleepy." She said as she looked at him with tired eyes.
